TOPEKA – (January 8, 2026) – Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach today officially filed for re-election, solidifying his commitment to continue serving the people of Kansas with strong, principled leadership. In conjunction with this filing, Kobach’s campaign released its latest finance report, revealing an unprecedented cash-on-hand total of $502,626 – the highest January 1 amount ever reported by an Attorney General candidate in Kansas history. The previous record of $501,399 was set by Attorney General Steve Six on his Jan. 10, 2010, report. Also of note is the fact that all of Kobach’s $502,626 was contributed by others; he did not contribute or loan any personal money to the campaign to reach that total.

This financial milestone underscores the widespread support Kobach has garnered from grassroots donors, conservatives, and everyday Kansans who value his track record of defending constitutional rights, reducing crime rates to their lowest level in more than 50 years, combatting illegal immigration, and defending Kansas consumers against deceptive corporate practices.

“From day one, my focus has been on protecting Kansas families, upholding the rule of law, and fighting for our Kansas values,” Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach said. “This record-breaking cash-on-hand is a testament to the trust and enthusiasm of our supporters. It also reflects the fact that we have reduced Kansas crime rates to the lowest point in over 50 years. I look forward to earning the votes of Kansans once again as we build on the successes of the past three years.”

Kobach’s tenure as Attorney General has been marked by significant achievements, including leading multi-state lawsuits resulting in millions of dollars returned to Kansas families, enhancing consumer protections, and cracking down on fentanyl trafficking and reducing fentanyl overdoses.

His re-election bid aims to expand these efforts.
