Former U.S. Senator Jim DeMint, a South Carolina Republican, today announced he endorses former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach for U.S. Senate in Kansas.

“Kris Kobach is a trusted conservative warrior who will hold the line to protect the constitution and stop activist judges from getting on the bench. He will carry the torch for the President by stopping illegal immigration and putting American workers first. He’s also a fiscal conservative who is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment. I know his track record, and I know that he never wavers. Kris stands head and shoulders above his competition as a conservative fighter,” DeMint said.

The former South Carolina Senator was regularly listed as one of the most conservative members when he served in the U.S. Senate from 2005- 2013.

“Jim DeMint’s endorsement is especially meaningful to me, because he is a conservative stalwart who served so admirably in the U.S. House and Senate,” Kobach said. “He personally knows the courage it takes to stand up for conservative values in Congress, and I am honored by his trust that I will do the same when I am in the Senate.”
